You can give yourself the best chance of success in your legal matter by following these steps:

  1. Gather together all relevant documents in your matter.  Don’t write on them, fold them, or throw anything away.  Keep them clean and save any inserts or envelopes that are associated with them.
  2. Make copies of these documents to keep for your own records.  I will scan all originals and store them in an electronic legal file, but it’s always a good idea to have a paper backup.
  3. Bring the original documents with you on the day of your initial consult.  If you can easily scan the documents and email them to our office, that will help streamline things.  My email address is pbarry@lawpoint.com.  Make sure we have discussed this first.  I won’t review any unsolicited documents unless we’ve made prior arrangements.
