The FCC denied the Mortgage Bankers Association the right to robo call its customers without penalty. This was a major blow to the mortgage banking industry which sought to exempt itself from a federal law, the TCPA, which prohibits robo calls to a consumer without their prior express consent. In its order denying the Mortgage Bankers Association exemption request, the FCC repeatedly cited to a letter submitted by Consumer Lawyer Pete Barry in reaching its decision. This is a huge victory for American consumers who do not want to be harassed with phone calls by the big banks. The FCC’s denial order is here.  If you’re getting robo calls that you don’t want, from anyone, call our office today and we can help.
